High protein foods or foods high in protein provide essential nutrients that is important to our overall health. Foods high in protein supply essential nutrients that form the basis of the structure of the body , and being the most important component of muscles, blood , skin and all the internal body organs.

Even though high protein foods supply nutrients to meet our body needs, it is important to note that they are not stored in the organism to form an alimentary reserve, therefore its vital to take or eat foods high in protein throughout life.

Essential Amino Acids

Foods high in protein are made into simpler substances called amino acids. All proteins in nature are basically formed of not more than 20 different kinds of amino acids. Combining all these in various forms , in number and order makes it possible to have a greater variety of proteins which make up living beings.
