Weight loss tea

There are healthy weight loss tea available today, and  some have been in existence for many years ago. The most common tea and one we are going to look at today is green tea.

This weight loss tea or green tea is well known to be the best tea for weight loss and also has other tremendous health benefits such as fighting or preventing cancer, lowering cholesterol, healthy teeth and many more.

Green tea has been used since ancient china times like thousands of years ago and also being the origin of green tea.

This tea plant is a large shrub in size with evergreen leaves , and making of green tea involves use of unfermented leaves and it has been found to contain the highest concentration of most powerful antioxidants namely polypherols. And basically antioxidants which I am sure most of us have heard about it, are substance that help fight free radicals in our body that are damaging compounds and alter cells, damage DNA , and even the possibility of death and major contributing factors to aging.

Several studies which have been conducted indicate that regular intake of green tea containing the catechins may have effect on body weight , energy metabolism and even body fat content.

  • Research done such as the one conducted in 2009, "researchers in the Netherlands did a meta-analysis of studies evaluating how the catechins found in green tea affect weight loss and even weight management . Catechins significantly decreased body weight and maintained body weight after a period of weight loss".


    Let us now look at the benefits of Green tea at a time;

    1. Green tea and weight loss - You want to lose those extra pounds the healthy way , well the best tea for weight loss is green tea, and several studies support this including a research done and published by the American Journal of clinical Nutrition indicate that Green tea polyphenols can help in speeding up the metabolic rate of the body.

    Another compound found in this weight loss tea apart from polyphenols is a compound called flavonoids. Flavonoids found in Green tea may change the way the body uses norepinephrine, a hormone that monitors how calories are burned in your body.

    Green tea contain small amounts of calories in comparison on what many people drink in the morning like cola drinks, coffee, shakes and many more .

    Another compound found in Green tea , is called Catechin Polyphenols  which we had earlier touched on. This compound interact with other Green tea extracts in order to aid weight loss through a process called thermogenesis which is basically a process of losing energy by daytime heat and also burning fat.

Green tea and cancer prevention - Another amazing benefit of this weight loss tea is that green tea has tremendous healthy benefits and when it comes to cancer, Green tea is rich in antioxidants which help fight free radicals in our bodies which are known to lead to aging , cell damages in our body.

    This has been linked to illness such as heart disease , stroke and certain cancer. A study which was done "In the 1994 edition of the Journal of National Cancer Institute, the outcome of an epidemiological study stated that one of the health benefits of drinking Green tea is that it can actually reduce the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by up to 60%".

    Also another research done by Purdue university states " Purdue university researchers Dorothy Morre and D. James Morre found that EGCG, a compound in Green tea , inhibits an enzyme required for cancer cells with no ill effect on healthy cells".

    In conclusion, we have seen the healthy benefits of Green tea and seen enormous benefits of it to our health and being weight loss tea or best tea for weight loss. I believe its high time we embrace Green tea in our daily lives to reap the benefits for our own good.
